Hello, my name is Abby Davenport also known as Vambo or Flyingloafofbread,
I am a freelance artist/animator/background artist born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina, and graduated in Animation Filmmaking at UNCSA. I spent the last year animating on various projects including the animated music video ‘KHIRKI’ for Taha G, an unreleased project, and a WIA Mentorship. Previously I directed and contributed most aspects to a 2-D animated Christmas short called ‘Faith and the Christmas Star’ currently beginning it’s festival run. I was also an Animator, Background Artist, and Designer for the soon to be released pilot animatic ‘Lumi and The Great Big Galaxy’.
In 2022 I Co-Directed and acted as Lead Background Artist for the student film ‘Sonata’ alongside 3 other directors which went to screen at Moebius, NFFTY, Beaufort IFF, Long Leaf, Joedance, and Cucalorus.
In 2021 I finished Co-Directing the Animated Short Film ‘Mundance’ which went on to win the best score in the Reel to Reel Film Festival, show in River Run, Full Bloom Film Fest, Long Leaf, Joedance, and several others. Both ‘Sonata’ and ‘Mundance’ are available to view here on this site!
Currently I teach local watercolor classes and act as a substitute teacher.
